Cabbage is a cold-resistant plant. Seeds germinate at a temperature of + 2oC. The optimum temperature for seed germination is + 18-20 ° C. For growth and development, a temperature of + 15-20 ° C is needed. Soil fertility is the main condition for a good harvest. Also, cabbage is demanding on moisture and good lighting.

Early varieties and hybrids
Seedlings of early maturing cabbage should be grown in greenhouses or greenhouses. The age of cabbage seedlings for planting should be 35-45 days. You can sow seeds from mid to late March. Seeds are sown in grooves or separate cups. The depth of the grooves is 1-1.5 cm, the distance between the grooves is 8-10 cm, between the seeds – 1 cm. The grooves must be well moistened, spread the seeds and sprinkled with moist soil, be sure to compact from above. Seedlings will appear in 5-8 days. As the seedlings grow, you can add light soil. Watering with “Fitosporin” will protect the seedlings from the black leg. With a thickened sowing, the seedlings must be sown. A week before planting, the seedlings must be hardened.
Mid-season varieties and hybrids
Seedlings of this cabbage are grown in nurseries. Seeds are sown for seedlings from 5 to 15 May. Seeds are sown in grooves or separate cups. The depth of the grooves is 1-1.5 cm, the distance between the grooves is 8-10 cm, between the seeds – 1 cm. The grooves must be well moistened, spread out the seeds and sprinkled with moist soil, be sure to compact from above. Nurseries are covered with glass or dense covering material. Cover with plastic wrap at night. Seedlings appear in 5-8 days. Nurseries should be regularly ventilated. By the time of planting, the seedlings should have 5-6 true leaves and a well-developed root system. The age of the seedlings for transplanting to a permanent place is 30-35 days.
Mid-late varieties and hybrids
Seedlings of medium late varieties are grown in sunny nurseries. Sowing seeds for seedlings is carried out from April 20 to 25. The seeding pattern and care for seedlings does not differ from early and mid-season varieties. Seedlings must be hardened 7-10 days before planting. The age of seedlings for planting in open ground is 30-35 days.
